On September 3, 2024, WTMS welcomed the class of 2030 as incoming seventh graders. All of us are curious how they are adjusting to their new middle school life. Middle school life can be hard for some people. We got the chance to interview a few members of the new class. So let’s see how the class of 2030 is adjusting to this new lifestyle.
The challenges of being a 7th grader can be difficult. New school, new schedules, new teachers, and a brand new set of hallways to navigate!
“I had a hard time navigating the school and opening up my locker because the school is very big compared to School 5 or 6,” explained seventh grader Janice.
Alexandria added,” I didn’t really have a hard time adjusting. The only thing I had a hard time with was the lockers because I thought I would have to go to my locker between every class.”
The new privileges and opportunities can be exciting! Middle school settings can often offer new experiences, so we asked the new seventh graders what they are most excited about.
Autumn shared, “Definitely looking forward to my club field trips and the 7th grade field trip to Philadelphia!”
Seventh grader, Richard, expressed “Definitely my robotics class. I am learning a lot about coding!”
Seventh grade definitely comes with more to do in a school setting so what do the students love the most?
Alena stated “Moving around the school has been easy and memorizing the classes are pretty nice.”
Autumn added, “I love the independence of walking around the school instead of being in the line.”
Hopefully, the 2024-2025 school year will bring new and exciting opportunies for success for both seventh and eighth graders.
