On April 11th, WTMS hosted the 7th Grade Spring Fling Dance. The dance took place in the new gym from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Any eligible person had to buy a five dollar ticket and bring their ID.
There was a concession stand that provided refreshments for students such as candy, chips, and cold drinks.
Janice Ameyaw described, “At the dance, there was a concession stand where people got to buy drinks, snacks, and even pizza. It was nice to have the option of getting a snack or drink after becoming tired on the dance floor. There was only one food option for hot food but it was still pretty good. Everyone was dressed very nicely and looked great. The dance was definitely worth the money.“
At the end of the gym there was a photo booth where students and teachers could take pictures.
Trinity Moore exclaimed, “The photo booth where you could take pictures was so amazingly decorated! The photo booth was purple and white and it was decorated with balloons and a pastel garland that covered up most of the booth. The booth helped capture wonderful memories. The 7th grade dance was one of the most exciting parts of the school year so far and definitely my best school dance.”
For the majority of the dance, the seventh graders filled the dance floor.
Janice Ameyaw went on to describe, “My favorite part of the dance would have to be what was happening on the dance floor. At the dance floor, there was a DJ that played a lot of good tunes that were catchy. There was even a dance circle full of energetic people. Everyone was dancing and just having fun. The most exciting part was when the students pulled our security guard Ms. Robinson out to the dance floor.”
Overall the WTMS did a great job on making sure we had a fun dance marking the start of spring!
