On May 8th, Thursday, from 6 to 8pm, at Winslow Township Middle School, the residents of Winslow Township gathered at the yearly event, Community Night.
At Community Night, the NJHS members set up games throughout the school such as a glasses decorating station and bracelet making station. There were also lots of free food provided and there were food vendors such as Mister Softee and Kona Ice. Another vendor was Victoria’s kitchen which was a big hit! They served delicious plates of southern food like mac cheese, collard greens, and honey tenders. Even Mayor Lawrence came!
“There were different vendors and different communities coming around and current students and old students,”explained Mr Wright, 8th Grade Assistant Principal.
People were playing on the playground and having an amazing time.
At Community Night, some of Winslow Township’s first responders such as EMTs’, firefighters, and police officers had their own tables sharing valuable information about their careers.
Everybody was wearing pink firefighter hats that were given by the firefighters which showed support and recognition to them.
The electives of Winslow Township Middle School showcased their amazing work. The computer science table, hosted by Mr. Watson, showcased some inventions that were made with their 3D printer. The art group showcased their art gallery with beautiful artwork completed by art students. The artword lined the halls of WTMS.
